What is QuickTube?

QuickTube is your own YouTube search and personal video library.

Search YouTube from right here—no ads, no distractions, no sign-up. When you find something you love, save it to your own private library so it's waiting for you next time.

QuickTube works on desktop, laptop, tablet, and phone—and you can install it to your phone's home screen like a real app (instructions below).

🔍 How it works

1. Search

Type what you're looking for into the search box—an artist, song, mix, genre, anything. Results appear instantly as you type. You can also paste a YouTube link to jump straight to that video.

2. Open

Click the thumbnail or the red ↗ Open button on any result. The video opens on YouTube in a new tab.

3. Save

This is the important part. If you find a video you want to keep, click + Save.

⚠️ Videos you don't save will disappear when you leave the page.

When you save a video:

  • ✅ It goes into your personal library (the 🗄️ Database tab at the top).

  • ✅ It stays there when you close your browser.

  • ✅ It stays there when you turn off your computer.

  • ✅ It stays there when you come back tomorrow, next week, or next month.

  • ✅ You can come back any time, and all your saved videos will be waiting.

Search results are temporary—they refresh every time you search. Only videos you've saved with the + Save button are kept.

4. Your Library

Click the 🗄️ Database tab to see everything you've saved. From there you can:

  • Filter to find a video quickly

  • ↗ Open any saved video to watch it again

  • 🗑 Remove videos you no longer want

💻 On desktop or laptop

QuickTube works straight away in any browser—Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. Just open the page and start using it.

Optional—install it as a desktop app:

  1. Open QuickTube in Chrome or Edge

  2. Look for a small install icon in the address bar (a monitor with a small arrow or a + sign)

  3. Click it → Install

  4. QuickTube now opens in its own window with its own desktop icon—just like a real program

If you don't see the icon, right-click the page → Cast, save and share → Install page as app (Chrome) or use the browser menu → Apps → Install this site as an app (Edge).

📱 QuickTube on Your Phone or Tablet

Want to use QuickTube on your phone or tablet—just like a real app? It's easy.

👉 Go to https://www.legacy-mixes-radio.uk/download-app and follow the instructions to download the app to your phone.

Once installed, you will see this logo on your home screen—that's Legacy Mixes Radio.

Tap the LMR logo to open the app. Then, in the top-right corner, tap the three horizontal lines (☰) to open the menu, and select QuickTube.

That's it—QuickTube opens, ready to search and save videos.

☁️ Your library on every device

Your saved videos are stored in the browser on each device. That means:

  • Save videos on your laptop → they stay on your laptop

  • Open QuickTube on your phone → the phone has its own separate library

To move your library between devices, use the Backup Code system:

On your laptop (or the device with the library)

  1. Open the 🗄️ Database tab

  2. Tap 📋 Copy Backup Code

  3. Paste it into an email to yourself or a notes app so you can find it on the other device

On your phone

  1. Open QuickTube

  2. Tap 📥 Restore from Code

  3. Paste your backup code → tap Restore library

  4. All your saved videos appear

Tip: Do this once a month, or every time you add something important, and you'll never lose your library.

💾 Other backup options

In the 🗄️ Database tab you also have:

  • ⬇ Export JSON—a full backup file you can keep anywhere

  • ⬇ Export CSV—opens in Excel or Google Sheets if you want a readable list
